Snapmaker Orca with CM

Colour. Edit. Cut. Slice.

Import coloured models, refine paint and shading, and prepare parts in one workflow. ChromaMatter’s colour technology now continues in Orca with CM.

Extract the entire ZIP, then open chromamatter-orca-dev.exe. Settings are shared with earlier CM trials: back them up and close older versions first.

Extract on your Mac and open the app. Ad-hoc signed only; no Developer ID or notarization. Settings may be shared with older CM builds.

Experimental software, not a stable release. Keep originals and work on copies.
Mac and Linux build/package checks passed; real-model GUI operations, slicing and printing on these platforms remain unverified. The latest R8 Windows protection changes have not had a final GUI verification. Always inspect the sliced result before printing. This is an unofficial Snapmaker Orca modification.

In dev3-R8

  • Three colour modesFlat Color, Full Spectrum and experimental CMY recipes from coloured GLB/OBJ models.
  • Paint & shadingBrush and fill tools, colour replacement, palette cleanup and shading adjustments.
  • Part cuts & protectionPlanar cuts with position and angle controls, optional range planes and brush protection.
  • Connectors & bridgesAttached plug connectors, hole clearance and two-point cylindrical or square bridges.
  • Plate-aware checksFor eligible Flat Color projects, uses each plate’s actual materials for validation. A four-tool printer still needs no more than four physical filaments on each plate.
  • English & JapaneseColour-editing and cutting workflows in the same application.
Setup notes & current limitations

Extract into a separate folder. Back up settings and save projects under new names. See the release README for dependencies, launch instructions and SHA-256 values.

  • Windows is an extracted app bundle, not an isolated portable profile. It shares the ChromaMatter_Orca_240_MaterialHover / ChromaMatter_Orca_Dev settings location with previous builds.
  • Mac requires Apple Silicon and macOS 15 or newer. Intel Macs are not supported by this package. Ad-hoc signature and command-line checks are not a substitute for real-device GUI testing.
  • Linux targets Ubuntu 22.04 x86_64. Command-line, dependency and headless startup checks passed. Other distributions and real-GPU use are unverified.
  • Protection, cuts and connectors remain model-dependent. Check geometry and sliced results. Shape-based cutting remains a developer feature.
  • CMY, TD and Core/Shell are experimental, not optically calibrated. Palette entries do not add physical printer tools; plates are not automatically regrouped.
  • Older CM builds and stock Orca may not reproduce these project settings. The screenshot and demo videos show earlier development stages, not an R8 test certificate.
